FAS Funding:
FÁS is currently running a scheme which enables employers to avail of grants towards disability awareness training. The purpose of the scheme is to assist in the integration of people with disabilities into the workforce and to eliminate mistaken perceptions about people with disabilities and their capacity to be productive and effective. Training grants of 90% of eligible programme costs are available to organisations for the first year of training and thereafter, 80% of eligible programme costs are granted. There is a limit of €20,000 payable to an organisation in any one calendar year for training purposes under this scheme.
Organisations wishing to avail of the grant must use a Disability Awareness Trainer/Training Organisation that are approved by and registered with FÁS. Orbis - Human Resources Development Ltd. has approved status and is registered.
